While looking for a pic I took Easter morning, 1969 in Viet Nam, I found these on the same flash drive. Couldn't find the one I meant to post - probably deleted it. I know people say stuff like that should be saved, but some of it I just can't look at anymore.

In any case, I did find these assorted pics I saved several years ago that might be of interest. The submarines are in Russia, 1908 as well as I recall.

Looking through hard drives I found a few more from various eras and countries. If I don't post them now, I'll never find them again.

I had captioned this as Polish Police. No idea if that's right.

Found a brief photoset of images from the Soviet army in 1924. I'm not sure where else they would go...

This was captioned, "kamakaze" which isn't completely inaccurate.

I keep finding a few pics here and there. Some Russian sites will put military images in the oddest place. Time to clear a few from my pic file. No definitive theme other than they're all military related.

Italian tankettes - I'm not sure if this is in Italy.

Early Soviet type?

I *think* this is from Siam. ao-sepia may have the back story.

I thought this was an Italian manned torpedo, but the article mentioned training in a Scottish bay
m8.jpg

More Italian tankettes. In Ethiopia, a column of 9 of these was destroyed by natives dropping big rocks on them.

From the Spanish civil war. Notice the Broomhandle has a removable magazine - which makes it an Astra rather than a Mauser.

Possibly a T18 - but not a picture I have seen before - thanks

Regarding the police gear shown above when I was on a city police dept. in the early 70s, we still carried lead-filled saps. Uniform trousers even had side leg pockets for them. It was a different world them. The old guys would say, "You should have seen it 20 years ago!"

All I ever did with mine was put it in the mouth of a fellow having seizures so he wouldn't bite his own tongue off.

This set is of a more contemporary nature. Various countries' equipment is shown.

Yeah - I'd get right around that guy!

German hand grenades aren't primed by pulling the ring, but by unscrewing the cap and pulling a cord that comes out. The ring is fixed to the top of the grenade through a loop.
