A Swiss Army soldier pictured on the 21st of April 1988 demonstrating the use of the 'Trinkvorrichtung' (drinking device) which was standard issue with the newly-introduced SM-90M gas mask. The SM-90M was introduced in Swiss Army service in the late 1980s/early 1990s. The soldier is also wearing the M71 steel helmet, a Swiss design which albeit grotesque in appearance was very comfortable and stable. USS Princeton LPH-5 in the Western Pacific in 1961
Commissioned as USS Princeton CV-37 in November 1945, she served extensively during the Korean War where she earned Eight Battle stars
She was reclassified in the early 1950s as an attack carrier (CVA), then as an Antisubmarine Aircraft Carrier (CVS), and finally as an amphibious assault ship (LPH), carrying Helicopters and Marines
Although Princeton was extensively modified internally throughout her career, she retained the classic appearance of a WW2 Essex-Class Carrier
Decommissioned in 1970 and sold for scrap in 1971
