William James BENDALL

William James BENDALL. Lance Corporal 16156, 1st Gloucestershire Regiment
Born 1889 in Berkeley to William and Mary Bendall nee Cornelius
1891-1901 with his parents and siblings at Berrycroft, Berkeley
1909 He married Mary Elizabeth Lois Malpass in St Mary the Virgin Church, Berkeley.
1911 with his wife at Hickness Row, Berkeley, Glos, occupation, dock labourer at Sharpness Docks.
He died of his injuries on board Hospital Ship Aberdonian 14th September 1916. His body was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley, Hampshire
He leaves his wife and two children, William Seabourne Christopher and Dorothy Mary Lois Bendall.
A war gratuity was granted to his widow 25 November 1916, revised 30 September 1919.
At rest in Berkeley Cemetery, Berkeley, Gloucestershire
