William George JONES

William George JONES. Sapper 139049 180th Tunnelling Coy, Royal Engineers, formerly (18538) South Wales Borderers died 26th September 1916 aged 26. He was the son of George and Mary Ann of Alveston, near Thornbury, Gloucestershire. He is commemorated on his parents memorial in St Helen\'s Churchyard, Gloucestershire and also on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France. He was the brother o Frederick Samuel who also fell.
