William E HASSARD

Private 24244681 William E HASSARD. 4th Ulster Defence Regiment. He was murdered by the IRA on the 4th August 1988 aged 60 years. along with his friend, Mr Frederick LOVE aged 64 were shot dead shortly after driving out of Belleek joint Royal Ulster Constabulary and British Army base, County Fermanagh. At the time of his murder he was a civilian contractor who was married with four children and did occasional work at the Security Force (S/F) bases in Northern Ireland. Mr Hassard also served as a part time soldier in the 4th Battalion Ulster Defence Regiment in the seventies and early eighties.
