William Barton INMAN

Extended Description
William Barton INMAN. Midshipman of H.M.S. Marlborough who met his death by a fall from aloft while in the performance of his duty on the 19th November 1861 aged 19. This stone is erected by his messmates and friends on board. A parting testimony to his stainless character, engaging disposition and rising professional promise. He was born in 1842 in the registration district of Grantham, Lincolnshire.

At rest in Ta Braxia Cemetery, Malta.

Memorial appears to have damaged by the bombing of the island in World War Two.
