13 June 1914 departed from Liverpool bound for America on the Lusitania, occupation Clerk.

1910 - 1913 Served in Gloucestershire Yeomanry
7 November 1914 enlisted in Vancouver aged 25 No. 75815 29th Canadian Infantry.
Promoted to Lance Corporal.
8 December 1915 he was suffering from influenza at 6th Canadian Field Ambulance, returned to duty 15 December 1915.
20 May 1915 embarked from Canada, disembarked in England 30 May 1915.
18 September 1915 he went to France, disembarking at Boulogne.
12 January 1916 he proceeded to England to take Commission, transferred to 30th Reserve Bn.
14 March 1916 he was a Cadet with 30th Bn. Reserve Cambridgeshire, still as Lance Corporal.
7 July 1916 he was discharged on appointment to Commission in the Imperial Army as Lieutenant in 14th Bn. Worcestershire Regiment at Hythe.
At rest at New Irish Farm Cemetery, Belgium.
