Victor Arthur EVANS. Private 1918, 27th Australian Infantry. Born at Bournemouth, Hampshire, England and enlisted at Keswick, South Australia on the 16th June 1915 aged 20 and 11 months, occupation, schoolteacher. His next of kin was his father, John Evans of 1 Clapton Road, Maryatville, South Australia. He embarked at Adelaide for the Mediterranean on H.M.A.T. Morea on the 26th August 1918. On the 17th October 1915 he was taken sick and admitted into 7th Field Ambulance at Gallipoli. At some stage he was invalided to Malta and admitted into Imtarfa Military Hospital on the 20th October 1915 from Hospital Ship, Nevasa and died of scarlet fever on the 30th October 1915.
