Thomas CLUTTERBUCK. Warrant Officer 1342, Australian Flying Corps died 22nd May 1918 aged 38. Son of Andrew Sydney and Beda Thealia Clutterbuck of (1881) 72 Mead Street, Bedminster, Somerset. Native if Whitminster, near Gloucester City. Husband of Anne Florence Clutterbuck, nee Hinson of 138, Princess Street, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane, Queensland. Native of Bedminster, Somerset, England. At rest in Leighterton Church Cemetery, Gloucestershire.
Some notes from his army records.
He joined up on the 19th May 1915 aged 35 and 9 months. He was posted at Private 1342 into 8th Reinforcements, Australian Imperial Force, occupation, mechanical engineer. He had fought in the Boer War with the Queensland Mounted Infantry for 3 years. On the 24th July 1916 he was now Sapper and on this date was admitted into 3rd General Hospital suffering with mild shell shock. He made a full recovery. On the 22nd May 1918 he died of cardiac failure at the George Hotel, Nailsworth, Gloucestershire
