Thomas BAKER

BAKER, Thomas. Lance Corporal 10522, 2nd Kings Royal Rifle Corps died of wounds 9th May 1915 aged 22 at Aubers Ridge. He was the son of Richard and Mary. In 1911 he was living with his parents and siblings at 2, Whimpston, Stratford on Avon, he was employed as a farm labourer. His father was granted a War Gratuity on the 29th May 1916, revised and monies reduced on the 28th August 1915 by 6, 11s 3d., awarded 5. He is/was, commemorated on a Poppy Cross on the W.W.1 War Memorial in the Garden of Remembrance, near the Holy Trinity Church, Stratford on Avon and also on the Le Touret Memorial, Pas de Calais, France. His brother William Richard, fell in action 23rd April 1915.
