Steam Ship MATIANA

TURNER, Arthur Prattinton, Master Mariner, Late Lieutenant, Royal Navy Reserve and Captain of S.S.Matiana, (British India Steam Navigation Company Ltd). He was drowned at sea on the 12th November 1898 in the Gulf of Aden. He was the husband of Frances Julia nee Carter who he married on the 12th December 1883 at St Martins Church, Birmingham and he lived at 17, Emscote Road, Warwickshire, He was the son of Henry and Eleanor He is commemorated on his son, George, (who died in 1920), memorial at Leamington Cemetery, Warwickshire.
