Private 45607 Albert Edward ALLSOPP. 11th Infantry Labour Corps, Lincolnshire Regiment died 10 April 1917 aged 30 of pneumonia. Born 28 March 1887 at Stanton St Quintin to Jacob and Emma Allsop, of Lower Stanton St. Quintin, near Chippenham, Wiltshire. In 1901 aged 14 he was residing with his widowed mother and siblings at Cottages in Avils Lane Stanton St Quintin, occupation, stable lad. 1911 he was residing at the home of John Coy at Rood Ashton, Trowbridge, Wiltshire occupation, groom. His mother was granted a war gratuity on the 31 October 1917 revised 22 October 1919. At rest in Bethune Town Cemetery, France

Lance Corporal 9283 Ernest Edwin BUOY. 1st Coldstream Guards died 22 July 1917 aged 27. He was born 3 March 1890 (surname registered as BOOY), baptised 19 October 1890 at St Giles, Stanton St Quintin. Son of Henry and Emma Buoy, of Didmarton, Badminton, Gloucestershire. In 1901 he was residing with his parents and siblings at Hinton Road, Dyrham and Hinton, Gloucestershire. 1911 residing with his widowed grandmother Eliza Booy at Churchill, West Kington, near Chippenham, Wiltshire, occupation farm labourer. At rest in Canada Farm Cemetery, Belgium.

Private 18257 Albert Edward MILLARD. 2nd Wiltshire Regiment died 8 July 1916 aged 25. Son of Charles Millard, of Stanton St., Quintin, near Chippenham, Wiltshire. His father Charles was granted a war gratuity 18 October 1916 revised 19 September 1919. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.

Private 18365 Arthur THOMAS. 6th Wiltshire Regiment. Killed in action 8 July 1916. Born 27 March 1895 at Stanton St Quintin, Wiltshire to Charles and Margaret Jane Thomas nee Russ. In 1901 he was residing with his parents and siblings in the village cottages. In 1911 still residing with his parents in Stanton St Quintin, occupation, farm labourer. His mother was granted a war gratuity 25 October 1916 revised 24 September 1919. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.

Private 10079 Henry John WHALE. 6th Wiltshire Regiment, killed in action 4 April 1917 aged 23. Born 1895 in Box, Wiltshire resided St Quintin to Mr. and Fanny Whale, of Stanton St. Quintin, near Chippenham, Wiltshire. His mother, Fanny was granted a war gratuity 6 September 1917 revised 13 November 1919. At rest in Elzenwalle Brasserie Cemetery, Belgium.

Major 37477 Wyndham Basil ALERS HANKEY. Mentioned in Despatches. 5th Wiltshire Regiment died 23 July 1944 aged 35. Son of Basil Howard Alers Hankey and Maud Wyndham Alers Hankey, husband of Elizabeth Veronica Alers Hankey, of Wye, Kent. M.A. At rest in Banneville-La-Campagne War Cemetery, France

Major 62956 Peter John ALERS HANKEY. Mentioned in Despatches. 4th Regiment Royal Horse Artillery died 18 October 1945 aged 33. Son of Basil Howard Alers Hankey, C.B.E., and of Maud Wyndham Alers Hankey (nee Goodden), of Chippenham. And brother of Wyndham Basil who also died in the war.
