Sister Ella Maud Bond

Ella Maud BOND. Sister 2nd Res/B1038, QAIMNS.
Born 30 January 1888 at Glasgow to Charles Frank and Isabella Dewar Bond at Loughborough, Renfrewshire, Scotland. At the time of her death her parents were residing at 48, King Street, Southport.
Died 3 November 1918 aged 31. Her father was granted a gratuity 31 March 1919 revised 28 August 1919. At rest in Scartho Road Cemetery, Grimsby, Lincolnshire.

She trained at Glasgow Infirmary four years from 01 April 1912 to 1 April 1915
She was called up for duty 23 August 1915 for duty at
Stoke on Trent War Hospital.
02 April 1917 she was informed of next posting to Salonika via France.
She embarked 19 April 1917 from Southampton with 49th General Hospital bound for Salonika. The unit disembarked France the following day, 20th. The 16 May 1917 the unit embarked from Marselles, France, disembarking at Salonika 22 May 1917. The unit was in temporary accommodation in H.M.H.S. Valdiva from 22nd to 26 May 1917 at Salonika, Greece.

12 September 1917 joined for duty with 31st Casuality Clearing Station
29 September duty at 29 General Hospital
29 November 1917 duty at 43 General Hospital
27 June 1918 admitted into nurses sick quarters in 43rd General Hospital suffering from malaria.
04 July 1918 transferred to Sisters Convalescent Hospital, Salonika.
29 July 1918 joined for duty at 63rd General Hospital.
17 August 1918 she entrained at Salonika for Bralos on route for UK leave
19 August 1918 she embarked Ikea, Greece on leave for the United Kingdom and was retained in UK for duty.
While residing at Waverley Hotel, Promenade, Southport, Merseyside she was instructed to report for duty on the 02 October 1918 as Sister at Brighhowgate Military Hospital, Grimsby Southport.
She died in the night of 03 November 1918 of pneumonia in her hospital.
