PATCHELL Robert John Herbert. Lance Corporal, 7258572, Royal Army Medical Corps, died 31st March 1931, aged 25 years Born in Cavan Ireland in 1906Erected by the Officers and other Ranks of the Corps and Sisters Q.A.I.M.A.S. stationed in Malta.

Credit the following to Malta Family History.
31 March 1931. Sudden death of L/Cpl R. J. Patchell at the military hospital after a short illness. The funeral took place on 1 April from St Oswald's Church in the hospital grounds. The whole company including officers and sisters together with many of the families attended. The cortege preceded by a firing squad of L/Cpls of the 1st/Highland Light Infantry and the band of 2nd/Worcestershire Regiment proceeded to the military Cemetery Mtarfa. L/Cpl Patchell known as Paddy had during his short stay with the company gained the respect and affection of his comrades. A grave stone of Maltese stone, faced with marble, was erected in July 1932 over his tomb.
