Extended Description: Percival Edward CARELESS. First Radio Officer, Merchant Navy on S.S. Samphill (London) died 30th August 1946 aged 39. He was the husband of Evelyn, nee Davies of Halesowen. He is at rest in St Michaels churchyard, South Littleton, Worcestershire

The SS Samphill was launched as Barrett Wendell under the lease-lend scheme. It was scrapped in Taiwan in 1967.
