Dorothy Jean LAWTON

Extended Description
LAWTON, Dorothy Jean. Wren 41373, Women\'s Royal Naval Service, on HMS Blackcap.
She was killed as the result of a Royal Navy Lorry in which she and 17 others were travelling in went of the road, overturned at Wrights Green, Appleton 31st May 1943 she was aged 20. The were returning to HMS Blackcap after being a a local dance. Six were killed, three Wrens and three male naval personnel.
She was the daughter of William and Dorothy of Macclesfield. She is at rest Macclesfield Cemetery Cheshire.
