Private 501359, 502nd Coy, Labour Corps formerly Private 061410, Army Service Corps Died 25th March 1918 aged 22.
Son of Mary Alice Metcalfe, of Quaker Terrace, Masham, Ripon, Yorks formerly of Main Street Askrigg.
(Burnt record data) Enlisted 19th February 1915 at Leybourn and was medically discharged on the 21st March 1918 at the Military Hospital, York with Tuberculosis of lung. caused by active service, exposure and strain. He was invalided from Egypt September 1915 with breathing problem in the right lung. He was only fit for Home Service

Buried in St Oswald's Churchyard, Askrigg, Yorkshire
