Arthur Charles HIGGINS, Private, 6343638, 2nd Battalion, Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died 3rd March 1941, aged 23 years

John Charles KELLY, Lance Corporal, 7538008, Army Dental Corps, attached Royal Army Medical Corps, died 28th February 1941, aged 37 years. The son of Charles and Phoebe Kelly, and husband of Ivy Helen Kelly, of Peckham Rye, London

John Lancelot WELLMAN, Private, 5725052, 1st Battalion, Dorsetshire Regiment, died 15th February 1941, aged 24 years. The son of Lily Mary Bonfield, of Langton Matravers, Dorset (Birth names was Lancelot J Wellman. FreeBMD)

On 13 February 1941, at about 20:30 hours, an enemy night raider dropped six bombs in the Barrack Hospital Area Mtarfa.

One bomb scored a direct hit at the base angle of B Block which blew in the wall of the basement shelter killing four, and injuring eleven patients.

Those killed were: No 5623724 Pte James Frederick Scott 2nd/Devonshire, Pte Robert McGill 3rd/KOMR and a soldier from 8th/Manchester.

5725052 Pte John Lancelot Wellman Dorsetshire Regiment died of wounds on 15 February.
 
On 28 Feb 1941, No 1 Dental Centre in Valletta Malta was demolished by a magnetic mine.

Dental Mechanic L/Cpl John Charles Kelly AD Corps was killed by the blast and No 7536378 Cpl T Clipsham AD Corps was wounded.
