John Charles MURRAY. Colour-Sergeant 4591, Ordley Room Sergeant (O.R.S.) 2nd Northamptonshire Regiment. Died at Malta 2nd October 1913. He was born in 1873 at Islington to John Charles and Esther Murray. He was baptised at All Saints Church Battle Bridge Islington London on the 9th November 1873 His parents address was 8 Erinlda Street, Islington. He enlisted into the army on the 22nd March 1895 he occupation prior to enlistment was a clerk. His widow, Catherine Alice nee Purt was granted a war gratuity on the 10th November 1913. They had no children. In 1911 she was with her husband in Malta.
