James Robert FEAR. Private 14584167 1st Tynside Scottish Black Watch. (Royal Highlanders) Born 28 March 1925 killed in action at Caen 28 June 1944 aged 19. Son of William and Teresa Mary Fear nee Nolan, of Eastham, Cheshire. At rest in St.Manvieu War Cemetery, Cheux, Calvados, France.

William Michael FEAR. South Lancashire Regiment. Born 31st December 1914. Wounded in World War 2. Died 10th May 1984. Son of William and Teresa Mary Fear nee Nolan, Cheshire

William FEAR. Royal Field Artillery. Born 31st January 1891. Wounded in the Great War, died 25th February 1962. Gunner 61883. Enlisted 13 July 1910 Discharged 25 March 1919). Son of William and Mary Ellen Fear, nee Riley. In 1901 he was residing with his parents and siblings (Robert being one of them) at Field Street, Birkenhead, Cheshire.
Wills and Admin, Ancestry. He resided at 69 Heygarth Road, Eastham, Cheshire, his effects went to Teresa Fear, nee Nolan widow.

Robert FEAR. Able Seaman Z/231 Royal Navy (VR) Born 26th April 1895 to William and Mary Ellen Fear, nee Riley. wounded in the Great War. Emigrated to New Zealand.

In 1901 he was residing with his parents and siblings (William being one of them) at Field Street, Birkenhead, Cheshire.
Naval record for this person can be seen on the National Archives web site. Army record was found for Robert Fear who enlisted 22 October 1913 at Birkenhead aged 18 years 9 months at Birkenhead into the Cheshire Special Reserve at Private 9722. Civilian occupation dock labourer. He was wounded in the leg and was admitted to hospital 8 December 1913 to 16 December 1913 He was discharged from the army on the 12 October 1914 for misconduct.

Notes from his Naval Record
Enlisted 14 October 1914, home address 61 Berry Street, Birkenhead. His mother was his next of kin. He was posted to Hood Battalion, Devonport 2 November 1914. Date not known he embarked from England for the Dardanelles. He received a Gunshot wound to his right shoulder at Cape Helles whilst on active service at the Dardanelles 9 June 1915 and treated at Glymenopoulo Hospital Alexandria, Egypt. The 3rd July 1915 he returned to his unit fit for duty. He was wounded again at the Dardanelles, bullet wound to his chest and left arm. Invalided to Royal Naval Hospital Bighi, Malta, dangerously ill. He was out of danger and was evacuated to Royal Navy Hospital, Plymouth on Hospital Ship, Gloucester Castle admitted into hospital Plymouth, 25 January 1915. On the 31 January 1916 he was discharged from hospital to Hood Battalion, Royal Naval Division, Depot Blandford Camp, Dorsetshire and worked as an Orderly . Demobilised 8 January 1918 to civil employment at Messrs Cammell Laird and Co Ltd Shipbuilders and Engineering Works, Birkenhead. His residence was given as 61 Playston Street, Birkenhead.

Gone but not forgotten.
