Oppy Wood 1916 East Yorkshire Regiment. Hull Pals 1914-1918.
It may be the following soldier.
Private 12117 James Wood. 7th East Yorkshire Regiment killed in action 7 July 1916. Born and enlisted in Hull, Yorkshire. Son of Joseph and Catherine of 17 Hope Terrace, Walker Street, Hull. His father was granted a war gratuity 7 March 1918 revised 28 October 1919. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France. Commemorated on a Poppy Cross Memorial at the Armed Forces Memorial, National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire 11 November 2018.
