Born 19 April 1919 at Ravara County Down to John, (farmer) and Catherine Craig, nee Wightman.
Grandson of William and Margaret Craig
He is commemorated on his grandparent’s headstone in the First Presbyterian Churchyard / Cemetery, Saintfield, County Down Northern Ireland

Aircraftman First Class (Driver) 1082514 Hugh Craig. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve stationed at RAF Kuantan Pahang in Malaya
Born 19 April 1919 in Ravara to John and Catherine Craig (nee Wightman) of Ravara, Ballygowan
He was a Prisoner of War in Java, Singapore, and was transferred to a Japanese PoW. ‘Hellship’, Tofuku-Maru which departed Singapore, bound for Japan 27 October 1942. He died at sea of acute colitis 20 November 1942.
