Lost 22-Nov-1944, off SW Malaya in Malacca Straits - by depth charges of Japanese destroyer, after being detected by aircraft. Bow struck bottom and began flooding. Unable to shut watertight door. Crew scuttled boat. Ten men escaped from the boat, though only eight made it to the surface alive. The eight survivors were taken prisoner, of which only three survived captivity
