Tablet (memorial)and photo to HMS Nottingham in St Mary's church, Nottingham.

Inscription

This Union Jack was presented to the vicar and church wardens of St Mary's Church Nottingham and was the flag flown by HMS Nottingham of the second Cruiser Squadron throughout the battle of Jutland on the 31st May 1916. The Nottingham was sunk by a torpedo in the North Sea on the 18 August 1916 when twenty one of the ships company lost their lives. The flag was presented by Admiral Sir George Tennant K.G.B.,C.B., C.B.E., M.V.O., who was navigating officer of HMS Nottingham at the Battle of Jutland.
This tablet was erected by the Lord Mayor, Alderman and Citizens of the City og Nottingham on the 16th day of April 1950.
