This is almost certainly HMAS Yarra, she has the thick black & narrow white band of the Squadron Leader on her funnel, which Yarra was in 1965. Yarra was also in SEA waters on deployment for the Indonesian Confrontation at this time.
HMAS Yarra (F07/DE 45), named for the Yarra River, was a River class destroyer escort of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).[1] The antisubmarine warship operated from 1961 to 1985.
