BAe Harrier GR3
The Harrier is famous throughout the world as the first production vertical take-off and landing jet fighter. It has been used by the Royal Air Force as a ground attack and reconnaissance aircraft in the close air support role. The combination of an innovative airframe and the superb engineering of the Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine resulted in an aircraft which broke the need for vast conventional airfields with huge concrete runways.
