Graves of Lts Melville and Coghill at Fugitives Drift

Lts Melville and Coghill attempted to save the colours of the 24th Regiment after the Battle of Isandhlwana. They lost the colours when crossing the Buffalo River at what is now know as Fugitives Drift, and were killed soon after reaching the Natal bank. The colours were recovered a few days later down river from Fugitives Drift.
