Gibbs, Bernard M.C.

2nd Lieutenant (M C, Mentioned in Despatches) 6th attached to the 1st Rifle Brigade killed in action in the great war during the night of 6/7th July 1915 near Ypres, Flanders. Son of George R. and Elizabeth Gibbs, of "Rycott," St. Helens Park Rd., Hastings. Educated at Pencarwick, Exmouth, Macclesfield Grammar School, Shrewsbury, and Pembroke College, Cambridge.

Commemorated on a memorial is in St Oswald's the parish church of Ashbourne, Derbyshire and is buried at Talana Farm Cemetery, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium
