- G122 CHARLES WISE PEERLESS. Assistant Foreman of factory, HM Dockyard, Malta. Born 1891 in Eastbourne Sussex to William Burgess and Mary Peerless, nee Wheeler. 1881 boarding aged 13 years at the home of Marchant family at 40 High Street, Alfriston, Sussex. 1901-1911 residing with his grandparents William Burgess and Maria Peerless at 10 Addington Road, Eastbourne, occupation, turner and fitter. Died in Royal Naval Hospital Bighi, Malta, 30th December 1935 aged 44 years from appendicitis and peritonitis. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - His residence was Senglea, Malta, died on date and place stated. His effects went to his widow Bernice Grace Peerless, nee Geering who he married in 1917 at Eastbourne.
His wife Bernice Grace Peerless died 1970 at Gosport, Hampshire.
