Appointed Chief Carpenter 11 August 1906 Lieutenant, Chief Carpenter 113786 Royal Navy on HMS Venerable. Born 2 October 1857 at Gillingham Kent as John Samuel Franckeiss. Enlisted 23 October 1880 as Ships Carpenter. Married 1887 in the registration district of Sheppey, Kent, to Maggie Randall. Died in Royal Navy Hospital, Bighi, Malta 5 November 1903 aged 46 of myocarditis. His naval records show the name of John Samuel Franckeiss.
