Fred FOWLES. John Buckingham CROSS. Ronald Toynbee WIGHT.

FOWLES FRED. Private, 16750, 6th Battalion, Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, (West Riding) formerly 6791 Dragoons, died 1st November 1915. Born in Weaverham, Northwich son of Hannah and Edward and in 1911 hew employed as telegraph messenger.
Some notes from what remains of his army records. He joined up on the 31st August 1914 aged 19 at Newport Monmouthshire., occupation given as a groom and lived with his father at the Toll Bary, Oakmere, Northwick, his late mother was called Hannah. He joined the 3rd Reserve Cavalry as Private 6791. Transferred to the 3rd West Riding Regiment as private 16730, Posted on the 28th August 1915 to the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force. Taken ill while on active service, transferred to a hospital in Malta and died on the 1st November 1915 of Paratyphoid, perforation and general peritonitis.

CROSS John Buckingham. Company Quartermaster Sergeant 2214, 4th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Died of dysentery, 1st November 1915,aged 51 years. The son of the late Robert and Sarah Cross, of Wymondham, Norfolk. The husband of Laura Cross, of Fernlea, Norwich Road, Wymondham, Norfolk. Awaiting reunion, the dearly loved husband of Laura Cross.

WIGHT Ronald Toynbee. Private, 1600, 1st Suffolk Yeomanry, died 30th October 1915, aged 20 years. Son of Thomas Henry Toynbee Wight and Ellie W. Wight. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, U.S.A. In 1911 he was at school aged 15, at 188 Holland Road, Kensington West.
