RAVENSCROFT Frank. Died on the 13th June 1988 aged 91 and was the husband of Mary Wildgoose. He was born on the 6th August 1896 to John and Mary Susannah nee Prescott (married in 1886), and baptised at Lower Peaover Church 6th September 1896 . In 1911 the family was living on Moss Farm, Plumbly Peaover, Knutsford. His father was a farmer and he was aged 14 and at school. In 1931 his father was living at Fields Farm, Caveley, near Tarporley, Cheshire. In 1963 Frank was living with his wife at Roebuck Farm, Manchester Road, Knutsford. (British Phone Books show) He was at this address from 1933 to 1971 When he passed away he was living at 23A Bexton Road, Knutsford. His address was found on (Wills Online UK) ( Wills and Admin Ancestry) Showed the following "Mary Ravenscroft of Roebuck Farm, Manchester Road, Knutsford wife of Frank Ravenscroft died 10th March 1963 at the Royal Infirmary, Manchester. Probate to Frank Ravenscroft, Farmer, Frank Alan, Chartered Accountant, and Barbara Elizabeth, married woman. Effects ( I will private)" . 1 The children's mother's maiden name was Wildgoose. Several of his brothers also served their country.
He may have been formerly Private 31608, 8th South Lancashire Regiment. On the 27th November 1917 he gained his commission from Private to 2nd Lieutenant in the Cheshire Regiment. It was inserted into the London Gazette dated 21st December 1917.
He is at rest with his wife in Knutsford Cemetery, Cheshire.
