Husband of Kathleen Timms, nee Dickinson of Kettering, Northamptonshire who he married 1940 in in Kettering. Died 11th January 1941 aged 25 years. While he was flying his Hawker Hurricane, he suffered from oxygen failure and engine problem. He was attempting to do a forced landing at RAF Luqa when he committed a low-level bale-out. He was recovered not too far from his crashed plane. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - His residence in England was 136 Evington Lane, Leicester. His effects went to his widow.

He was flying his Spitfire during aerial combat when he was shot down and killed in the sea 12th October 1942 aged 22 years, his body was later washed ashore. F010 WALTER PARKS. Sergeant 403476 Royal Australian Air Force joined up aged 19 years and 24 days at Sydney New South Wales on the 7th January 1941 as Airman Pilot 403476. Occupation prior to enlistment was a motor driver. He was born at Sydney on the 14th December 1921 to Walter of 12 Whitling Street, Artarman, New South Wales who was his next of kin. He was promoted to Temporary Sergeant on the 19th September 1941 the Temporary Flight Sergeant 19th March 1942 He embarked from Sydney N.S.W 15th October 1941 disembarked un England on the 23rd December 1941. Embarked England for Malta, Middle East on the 12th June 1942. In Malta he was attached to 229 Squadron, Royal Air Force Ta Kali. On the 29th October 1942 he was killed in an aircraft accident when he crashed into an obstruction on the aerodrome whilst taking off on operational patrol.

F010 ERNEST FORD. Leading Aircraftman 1072270, Royal Air Force (VR), 148 Squadron. Born 1921 to William and Ann Ellen Ford, of Oldham, Lancashire. He was a passenger being relocated to RAF Luqa on a Vickers Wellington Mk IC Bomber Serial Number HF887 Ferry flight from North Africa to Malta which crashed at RAF Luga 7 December 1942. He died of his injuries the following day aged 21 years.

The Vickers Wellington bomber Mk IC, Serial Number HF887 was carrying crew of six and six RAF Passengers. They were near the end of a (re-location) Ferry Flight. They took off at 17.54 hrs from (ALG) Advance Landing Ground at North Africa for RAF Luqa, Malta. As the aircraft was approaching Luqu on the 7th December 1942 the plane swung on approach, bounced, stalled and hit a dispersal pen. The aircraft was destroyed by fire.
