E. VD.23 MINH. *Travailleur Chinois (Chinese Worker) on shipwrecked Australian. Died 10 Oct 1918 at St Andrews Hospital. Died of an abdominal tumour.

*The history of the Chinese workers during the First World War in France concerns the 140,000 Chinese who came to work in France from 1916, mostly in the British army (within the body of Chinese workers ) to carry out earthworks, only 40,000 being under French authority, behind the front, in factories.
