ROWE Ernest Walter. Chief Engine Room Artificer 269427 Royal Navy on H.M. Torpedo Boat No. 30. Husband of Odilia Rowe nee Davie, of 1 Osborne Road, Gillingham, Kent. Born 28 January 1877 at Dover, Kent to Thomas and Harriet Rowe nee Gosling. Enlisted 2 August 1898 on HMS Pembroke II, occupation prior to enlistment, coppersmith. Died 7th September 1917 aged 40 from self inflicted gun shot to his head during temporary insanity, suicide. His widow was informed of his death the following day.
