Some notes from what remains of his army records. (On Ancestry)
He joined up at London on the 7th August 1915 aged 19 years and 175 days, 5 feet and 4 inches tall. He lived with his parents at 8 Mount View Terrace, Beacon Camporne and by occupation a miner. He was posted to France as Sapper 104929 on the 19th August 1915 to join 170th Company, Royal Engineers. He was transferred to the 251st Tunnelling Coy on the 24th November 1915 and was killed in action as sapper on the 10th March 1918. Not in his records. His father who was his next of kin was granted a war gratuity on the 16th August 1918.
In 1911 he lived with his parents at Thomas's Terrace, Torleven, Porthleven, Cornwall and he was by occupation a miner He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour at the Tower of London as of 25th August 2014

Sapper 104929 Edward LAITY. 251st Tunnelling Coy, Royal Engineers. Son of Edward and Mary Annie of 30, Edward Street, Tuckingmill, Camborne, Cornwall. Native of Porthleven, Cornwall. He is at rest in Cambrin Military Cemetery, France.
This memorial was part of the Memory Tree at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire. It has now bee removed.
This photograph was taken by 28th/61st (me) If anyone claims this photo as their's I would like to see proof of their claim.
My Uncle's occupation was a miner not fisherman ,it was his father Edward who was a fisherman, i would appreciate this to be corrected.
