Edward Freeman ROACH Master of S S Trekieve
Died 10 April 1990 in Malta of Typhus. He bacame ill on a voyage from the Black Sea to London, put ashore in Malta, where he died.
Born 1864 St Ives, Cornwall. Son of Henry and Jane Roach. Husband of Mary Ellen nee Anthony. 1871 census residing with his parents and siblings at Bowling Green Terrace, St Ives, Cornwall.

Wills & Admin Name as stated of 30 Bangor Street, Roath, Cardiff, master mariner. Probate granted to Mary Ellen Roach his widow.

At rest in Ta'Braxia Cemetery, Malta.

18 April 1917 S S Trekieve was on a voyage from Cardiff to Gibraltar with government cargo when she was sunk by a German U-boat 100 miles from her destination. Three people lost their lives.
