Looking again at the pics I hope those plastic looking things are ponchos and not gas capes?! Polar, what are they? - Also, it look bloody cold there! Glad I'm in civvie st now!
Matzos, do they make you take your mask off then ask a million bone questions in order to kill you?
I remember "Bombardier Warren 24662453" what "Bombardier Warren 24662435" more desperateley now " Bombar.....cough splutter dier war cough splutter ren"
Yes as Bombardier has stated, in the old days you had to say your name and number, you always had to do it 2 or 3 times, then they would let you out of the chamber. Now we do a number of tasks, one is too take the mask off hold it out for 10 - 20 seconds and then back on, you still get a face full of gase, we also have to do eating and drinking drill. The RAF Regiment staff who take us for the drill just love it, they are in the chamber up to 6 times in one week (its their job, good luck to them).
I remember doing all that and after name, rank, no. the barsteward asked me where I lived, my address, mother's maiden name ad infinitum. On reflection, maybe he was trying to "phish" my account!! Luckily, I was about 3rd to last in the queue so the CS had diminished a lot by my turn.
