Kenneth Charles George BOURNE

This is the older brother of my mother-n-law, Dorothy Enid Grace (Bourne) Anderson, who is 89 yrs old and has never seen where her brother died in England. I would like to know more about what happened to his flight and anything about his squadron during the war.

04/05/1943 Wellington HE217 of 22 OTU stalled and crashed at Wellesbourne Mountford. F/Sgt J W Freeman RCAF, F/Sgt K C Bourne RCAF, Sgt E H Park RCAF, Sgt C R Blenkhorn RCAF, Sgt K Hodgson RCAF and F/Sgt A W Klauer RCAF were all killed. Sgt Park was from Tennessee, USA.

How great it is to see the photograph of Kenneth and to know that his sister will now know the whereabouts of her brother's memorial stone. Great work too by Bombardier for all his searching for info for the family. If the family wish to use my photograph of the memorial stone, they should feel free to do so.

I have received another email from Mike thanking us all for the information.
They have no other information regarding Kenneth and would like to know how they can obtain more information, any ideas who will hold the RCAF military records?.

Email sent to the RAF Museum, lets see what they can do for Mike and his family.

Unfortunately we do not appear to hold any other items relating specifically to FS Kenneth Charles Bourne in our collection. Generally speaking flying log books unless they were retained by the individual or their families were destroyed by the Royal Air Force in the 1970s. I would suggest that if the family do not hold the log book or have not donated it to a museum, it is unlikely to have survived.
