Clarence Richard WILLIAMS. Able Seaman, S.S. Don. Merchant Navy. Born on the 14th September 1894 to Richard and Selina Williams, of Goole, Yorkshire. In 1911 he was living with his parents and siblings at Reedness Goole. He died 17th May 1945 age 51. His father was a ships captain.

Raymond BANNER. 168296 Merchant Navy, Born at Methil, Scotland 26th February 1917 died in Malta 28th September 1942 of peritonits. Ship's Steward on SS Ohio, oil tanker.
Address 106 Drive Street, Methil, Scotland.

This ship was involved in Operation Pedestal, Malta. It was badly damaged and nearly sunk but was saved when it was lashed between two destroyers and a tugboat.

Commemorated by a plaque Div.6 Joint Grave 8 Ta'Braxia Cemetery, Malta.

Both at rest in Ta Braxia Cemetery, Malta. Joint grave Division 6 Grave 8.

Whilst researching we noted on CWGC an entry for this grave of a R Banna, Private Royal Artillery 905202, died 26 September 1942.
We contacted CWGC and 29 July 2019 received notification that R Banna was not a War Grave. We further researched and found the following -
Gunner 905202 Raymond BANNA. Royal Artillery drowned at sea 26th September 1942 aged 25 years.
