Canon de 155 Grand Puissance Filloux

The Canon de 155 Grand Puissance Filloux (GPF) entered service in 1917 and proved to be one of the best pieces of French Artillery in WWI. It was chosen by the US Army Forces in France during 1918.
The type remained in American service into WWII as the 155mm Gun M1918M1.
There were still some 450 GPF in French service during 1939 and after june 1940 the Germans used seized weapons with the designation 15.5cm Kanone 418(f) in the field and coastal defence roles.
