Andrew (birth name) (k/a Alexander) RUSSELL. Rifleman 18713, 13th Royal Irish Rifles.
Born 6 June 1896 to John and Jane Russell, nee Miller. of Queen Street, Newtownards. Irish 1901 census. With his parents and siblings at 160 Greenwell Street, Newtownards. Irish 1911 census with his parents and siblings at 24 Wallace Street Newtownards, occupation mill worker. The family later resided at 56 Upper Movilla Street, Newtownards. Killed in action on the day of the Battle of the Somme. 1 July 1916 aged 21 years. His mother was granted a war gratuity 26 September 1917 revised 15 October 1919,
Commemorated on a family memorial at Movilla Cemetery Newtownards County Down Northern Ireland also on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.

Born 16 December 1889 of John and Jane Russell, nee Miller of Greenwell Street, Newtownards. Irish 1901 census. With his parents and siblings at 160 Greenwell Street, Newtownards. Irish 1911 census with his parents and siblings at 24 Wallace Street Newtownards, occupation panther in a linen mill. The family later resided at 56 Upper Movilla Street, Newtownards. Husband of Jane Russell, nee Quinn of Killearn, Newtownards, Co. Down. He was married 1 May 1915 at the parish church of Newtownards. occupation painter and soldier. He resided at Newtownards his wife at Killearn. Killed in action in France of Belgium 31 July 1917 aged 28 years. His widow was granted a war gratuity 6 February 1918 revised 25 November 1919.
Commemorated on a family memorial at Movilla Cemetery Newtownards County Down Northern Ireland also on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres Belgium.
