Son of John and Eliza Turner nee Lovesey of Kinerton, Temple Guiting. In 1901 his father now a widower and siblings were still residing at Kinerton, Temple Guiting. He and his twin brother were employed at horse lads on a farm aged 14.
He joined up at Horfield (Glosters) Barracks Bristol aged 29 years and 6 months 12 September 1916. He resided at Kinerton, Temple Guiting, occupation, labourer, his next of kin was his sister Agnes of the same address. He was posted 11 September 1916 to the 25 Rifle Brigade as Private 2575 transferred to the 4th Devonshire Regiment posted to the 13th Battalion all on the same day 7 February 1917. He was again transferred at Private 100026 to 167 Coy, Labour Corps.
He embarked to join the BEF in France from Folkestone 27 February 1917 disembarking the same day at Boulogne. He returned from France 21 October 1918 and demobilised to Class Z on the 24 October 1919 to his home at Kinerton.
At rest at Temple Guiting St Mary Churchyard, Gloucestershire.
