Prototype number 4 of the high altitude, high speed B1A Lancer bomber. The B1A was cancelled in 1977 as the production of cruise missiles, the development of stealth technology and improvements in Soviet radar technology made it obsolete.
It would return as the low altitude and much slower B1B during the 1980's.
