I was very surprised to find the article about William Edward Armes on here today. He was my paternal grandfather and your information all tallied with what we as a family understood about his death. Other sites say that he drowned but my father had always thought he died as the result of an explosion. This is the first time I have seen this confirmed by anyone.

Also the address of his sister, Miss Florrie Armes was interesting to see.
