The Air Mobile Protection Teams are specialists in aircraft security. They originate from the Object Ground Defense (OGRV), which operates at both Leeuwarden and Gilze-Rijen air bases.These security units exist to prevent aircraft or helicopters from becoming the target of an attack or hijacking when landing in enemy territory.Team members not only have to be able to handle a wide arsenal of firearms, they are also trained in various martial arts and learn how to protect helicopters and aircraft in tactical scenarios.
