- Surgeon General, David Reid McKINNON, M.A.M.B. Knight of the Legion of Honour. Born 21st May 1821, at Aberdeen, Scotland. Died 5th April 1906 at Redhill Surrey where he was buried in sure and certain hope of the resurrection.
1844, Assistant Surgeon to the 78th Highlanders.
1854, promoted to Surgeon, transferred to 21st Royal North British Fusiliers. Served in the Crimean, fought at Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman, and the capture of Sebastopol
