FRYER Edward Pte 3/8119, 2nd Devonshire Regt died 9 May 1915 age 24. Son of Charles & Harriett Fryer of Elmcote Lane, Coaley. Commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium [His birth name is Edward and not Edward J]

DAVIS Herbert James Pte 6885, 1st Wiltshire Regt died 20 July 1915. Buried at Cologne Southern cemetery, Germany.

CURTIS John Neville Robertson. Pte 2911, Queen’s Own Worcestershire Hussars (Worcestershire Yeomanry) died 23 April 1916 age 23. Son of Richard & Mary E of Coaley. Commemorated on the Jerusalem Memorial, Israel.

WATTS Trewren Daniel. Pte 16114, 10th Gloucestershire Regt died 28 May 1916 age 32. Son of Joseph and Amelia Watts of Post Office, Coaley. Buried at Lillers Communal Cemetery, France.

GRIFFIN Nelson Frank. Pte 16564, 12th Gloucestershire Regt died 29 July 1916 age 19. Son of Frank and Annie E of Nelson Cottage, Coaley. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.

UPSTONE Cedric Donovan. 2nd Lt 1/4th Devonshire Regt died 11 July 1916. Son of Philip and Mary Upstone of Sym Lane, Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire. Commemorated on the Kirkee 1914 – 1918 Memorial, India.

PEGLER William Charles. Cpl 17375, 10th Gloucestershire Regt died 19 August 1916. 21. Son of Charles E and Clara Pegler of Haw Street, Coaley. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France

SMETHAM Bernard Lionel. Pte 12862, 9th Gloucestershire Regt died 25 April 1917 age 19. Son of Albert and Sarah Smetham of Knapp Lane, Coaley. Buried at Karasouli Military Cemetery, Greece.
