    Although I´m disappointed with their newest album, this song kicks some serious ass. Since I´ve read The Forge of God and Anvil of Stars last year, I imagined it to be on the OST should they ever make those books into a movie. The grit in Lzzy´s voice gives me the chills every time. I absolutely love when she sings I know you're scared and alone but we´ll face this together. Through the innocence in your eyes they will live on forever. In their memory we'll build a new world.





    I´ve discovered Dream Theatre in the mid-90s when I was a kid, and it´s been a wonderful experience since then.

    I stopped listening to music regularly when I joined the US Navy in August of 1971. Believe it or not...I'm 63 by the way.

    When I was in the ninth grade at Courter Tech High School in Cincinnati Ohio we had a Pep rally for our (American)football team which was rated #1 in Cincinnati for about a week. At the end of the pep rally one of the the vice principals, Mr Fraizer, came on the stage.. and said..

    "Now young ladies and gentlemen we have a treat for you, singing their #1 soul hit STAX recording artist..Here's Sam & Dave!!" The place went nuts...this was so unexpected.

    For those of you that think the Blues Brothers originated that song.. shame on you. In my opinion the Blues Brothers version ..is..well... I'll stop there....

    Here's the real deal..



    BUT!! the greatest soul tune of all time in my opinion is..

    "Shotgun" by JR Walker & the All Stars 1965



    And trust me.. most of you just don't know..And if you have to ask what you don't know..you don't know...

    My sister who passed away May 25th 2008 loved the Monkees...she even tried to call them and ran up a $20+ dollar phone bill. In 1967 that was a chunk of change. My pops was HOT!

    I'm guessing her favorite Monkees tune was the iconic "I'm a Believer" (1966).



    My favorite rock/pop song of the 60s era was "The Letter" by the Boxtops...they were a one hit wonder.



    Oh my oh my....50+ years ago..damn...

    Another one..

    Hanky Panky by Tommy James and the Shondells ..1966. This was the #1 song in the USA in 1966. I remember this song was banned for a short while off the radio in my hometown..Cincinnati because it is about SEX.. But after a couple weeks of no Hanky Panky it came back.



    My favorite Beatles tune? it's a toss up between Hey Jude and Paperback Writer..



    Back 50+ years ago single 45 rpm records sold BIG. That song, Paperback Writer, sold over 1 million copies before it was released.

    No I don't wish I was younger..and I'm glad I was born in 1953.....That being stated...I would truly enjoy a younger body with the wisdom and age I have now.
