Was the areas , locations that many know off for it's battles , engagements that happend during WW1 , 2 , Napoleonic era

Was those same locations also known for other lesser known engagements , Battles from the early days ........that have become overlooked ...and possibly forgotten about ??

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorlice–Tarnów_offensive One of the biggest clashes of the war, totally subdued by Verdun or Somme and unknown in the West.
I live in Tarnów, mentioned in the name of the offensive. The woods still cover trenches, and there are hundreds of tiny WWI cemeteries, built during the Great War by Austro-Hungarian gov`t. There are AH, German and Russian soldiers buried there together, united in the eternal peace. Rare example of humanity during that cruel war.

Overlooked is very much accurate and incidentally I was talking the terrible battle mentioned above with a friend lately. This one shattered the Austrian army.

In terms of forces and casualties it was equally, or worse than Verdun or the Somme, the former is known to near every French and Germans and the later more mentioned by Anzac, or British forces because of their huge involvement.
